Cutoff grade

The cut-off grade is the level below which material within an ore body does not contain sufficient value to economically justify processing into a final salable form.

The initial mine cut-off grade is estimated or chosen during a mining feasibility study, but is subject to change due to greater knowledge obtain about the deposit or changes in market conditions.
