The DC Animated Movie Universe is a term used for a series of animated films based on The New 52 continuity.[1] The universe was introduced in Justice League: War.[2] These films are part of the DC Universe Animated Original Movies but don't share continuity with films outside of the DC Animated Movie Universe.[3]

Released films

Justice League: War (2014)

Main article: Justice League: War

The film was released on January 21, 2014. It is based on Geoff Johns and Jim Lee's "Justice League: Origin" storyline. It features the voice talents of Jason O'Mara as Batman, Alan Tudyk as Superman, Michelle Monaghan as Wonder Woman, Christopher Gorham as Flash, Justin Kirk as Green Lantern, Shemar Moore as Cyborg, Sean Astin as Shazam, Steven Blum as Darkseid, and Rocky Carroll as Dr. Silas Stone.[4] It is the first film in the DC Animated Movie Universe.[5] The film depicts an invasion of Earth by the alien Darkseid and the subsequent formation of the titular superhero team to counter it, which includes Batman, Superman, Wonder Woman, Flash, Green Lantern, Cyborg and Shazam. A sequel to this film, "Justice League: Throne of Atlantis", was released in January 2015.

Son of Batman (2014)

Main article: Son of Batman

The film was released on April 22, 2014. It is an adaptation of Grant Morrison and Andy Kubert's "Batman and Son" storyline.[6] It follows Batman and his son Damian Wayne, who becomes the new Robin. Deathstroke is the antagonist of the film. A sequel to this film, "Batman vs. Robin", was released in April 2015.

Justice League: Throne of Atlantis (2015)

The film was released on January 13, 2015. It is based on the 2012 storyline of the same name by Geoff Johns and Ivan Reis. The film focuses primarily on Arthur Curry as he becomes the superhero Aquaman and a member of the Justice League. A sequel to this film, "Justice League vs. Teen Titans", was released in March 2016.

Batman vs. Robin (2015)

Main article: Batman vs. Robin

The film was released on April 7, 2015. The film features the Court of Owls as the villains.[7] A sequel to this film, "Batman: Bad Blood", was released in January 2016.

Batman: Bad Blood (2016)

Main article: Batman: Bad Blood

The film was released on January 20, 2016. It features an original story not adapted from comics. It introduces the characters of Batwoman and Batwing to the universe.[8][9]

Justice League vs. Teen Titans (2016)

The film premiered at WonderCon in Los Angeles on March 26, 2016. It introduces the Teen Titans to the universe.[10]

Upcoming films

Justice League Dark (2017)

The film is scheduled to be released digitally on January 24, 2017 and on DVD and Blu-ray on February 7, 2017.[11][12][13] It will be an adaptation of Peter Milligan's "Justice League Dark" series and will introduce the Justice League Dark to the universe.[14]

Teen Titans: The Judas Contract (2017)

The film is scheduled to be released in spring 2017. It will be based on the comic book "The Judas Contract".[15]

Short film

Nightwing and Robin (2015)

Nightwing and Robin is a one-minute short film set during the events of Justice League: Throne of Atlantis.[16]
