Darwin 2009: A Pittsburgh Partnership

Darwin 2009: A Pittsburgh Partnership was a year-long celebration of the life and work of Charles Darwin and his impact on modern science, that was held in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, in 2009. The event was spearheaded by the Regenerative Medicine Partnership in Education to celebrate Darwin’s 200th birthday and the 150th anniversary of the publication of his work, On the Origin of Species.

The Regenerative Medicine Partnership in Education partnered with the following institutions in the Pittsburgh area to create and host a variety of educational events that focused on evolution and Darwin’s contributions to science:


As part of Darwin 2009, the education team at the Regenerative Medicine Partnership in Education created unique curriculum pieces for each institution. A list of the major curriculum pieces can be found below.
