David Michael Kurten AM is a British politician who has been a UK Independence Party Member of the London Assembly since the London Assembly election, 2016.[1][2]

He graduated with a first-class BSc in Chemistry from the University of St Andrews in 1993, and completed his PGCE at the University of Bath.

On October 18th Kurten announced his intention to stand for UKIP leader following the resignation of Diane James after just 18 days. He said he will "not rest until the foundations of our society are built up again".
