David Noel Bourke (born December 20, 1970) is a Denmark-based, Irish-born independent filmmaker.

Contributes as a columnist for Copenhagen Post newspaper, often detailing the challenges of making indie movies [1]

Born to Irish parents, he grew up a big fan of cult, alternative movies.[2] A spec screenwriter for many years, recently he has got more and more involved in the other processes of filmmaking including acting, shooting, editing and directing. The micro-budget movie "Last Exit" was his feature debut; very much an underground/exploitation movie and he admits, “not for everyone”, proved a surprise critical and financial success for such a experimental little movie and was distributed worldwide.[3] After gaining more experience directing short movies and commercials, David’s second feature film released as writer & director the edgy retro-thriller "No Right Turn".[4] His new film Bakerman is in post production after re-developing and re-writing one of his previous projects called "White Pig". [5]

The debut movie Last Exit, a low budget underground movie in 2003[6] which was officially released in the US and Europe.[7] The more ambitious, retro-thriller[8] called No Right Turn.[9] It officially premiered at the CPH:PIX film festival 2009,[10] where the film was nominated to screen twice in the new Danish Talent category.[11] No Right Turn was officially released in the US.[12] It was released in Denmark and Sweden to critical acclaim.[13]

His third independent feature film project,[14] the character drama, Bakerman is due a release end of 2016.[15] He is married with two children.[16]
