David Reid (born 22 July 1977 in Sydney, Australia) is a former Australian football (soccer) player. He primarily played as a midfielder.
Club career
Reid began his career with the Macarthur Rams side in the New South Wales Winter Super League. He spent three seasons with the south-west Sydney side before moving to Bonnyrigg White Eagles in 2000. He made 29 appearances and scored 8 goals for the club and by the end of the season the White Eagles gained promotion into the New South Wales Premier League. He would then move onto to play for Blacktown City FC for the following season, alternating between the Super League (winter competition) and Premier League (summer competition). Reid was apart of the Blacktown City side that were runners-up in 2002–03 NSW Premier League season. Reid scored a goal in the 3–1 Grand Final defeat. Reid also spent some time at Illawarra Premier League side Picton Rangers. In 2008, Reid returned to the Premier League with south Sydney outfit, Sutherland Sharks.[1]
Representative career
Reid has been capped for the New South Wales representative soccer team. He played games between 1997 and 2003, scoring 2 goals.[1]
