David Thorpe is the Executive Director of the Pro Training Center in Clearwater, Florida. Thorpe also works for Scouts Inc. as a part of ESPN's NBA coverage and is a regular contributor to the TrueHoop blog along with Henry Abbott.

Thorpe got his start as a high school assistant coach. He then went into personal training in the early-to-mid 1990s, training some of Florida's top high schoolers. As his work began to include more collegiate and professional players, he started the Pro Training Center.

His students over the years have included: Udonis Haslem (Miami Heat), Kevin Martin (Minnesota Timberwolves), Luol Deng (Miami Heat), Tyrus Thomas (Eisbären Bremerhaven), Courtney Lee (Charlotte Hornets), Earl Clark (Delaware 87ers), Jrue Holiday (New Orleans Pelicans), DeJuan Blair (Washington Wizards), Rob Kurz, Nick Calathes (Memphis Grizzlies), Daniel Santiago (Cangrejeros de Santurce), Marc Salyers (Roanne, France), Corey Brewer (Houston Rockets), Joakim Noah (Chicago Bulls), Omri Casspi (Houston Rockets), Yi Jianlian (Dallas Mavericks), Curtis Jerrells (San Antonio Spurs), Tony Gaffney (Hapoel Jerusalem), Reggie Williams (Avtodor Saratov), Gal Mekel (Maccabi Tel Aviv).

Thorpe has been married since 1990 and is the father of twins. He is a graduate of the University of Florida and owns a vizsla dog.
