Before the school was opened students from Delmar Village attended Folcroft Junior High School, grades k through 9, at the corner of Elmwood and Primos Avenues. Initially the Delcroft school contained grades K through 6th. Students then attended Folcroft Junior High School for grades 7 through 9 before attending Sharon Hill High School. The first principal was Miss Esther S. Kerns.
In 2008 and 2009, the school met the NCLB goal of AYP.
