Dennis Bounds

Dennis Bounds was a weeknight news anchor for KING-TV, a television station in Seattle, Washington. He had worked there from March 1991 to his retirement in April 2016.[1] He lives in Redmond, Washington.[2]

Bounds graduated from the University of North Dakota in 1974. He received a BA in sociology. He is married, and his three children attend public schools in the Seattle area.[3]

News Anchor career

After graduating from the University of North Dakota, Bounds worked for an airline, did some construction work, until he finally decided to get back into radio.
His first job was at a radio station in White Sulphur Springs, West Virginia, where he only got paid $2.10 an hour.
After a year, Bounds decided to move back to Fargo, North Dakota, where he anchored the weeknight evening news for KTHI-TV for a year and a half.
After his tenure at KTHI, Bounds moved to WFTV in Orlando, Florida, where he anchored the weekend evening news.
Bounds and his wife moved to Minneapolis, Minnesota, where he anchored the weekend evening news for KARE.
After KARE, Bounds moved across the street to KSTP-TV, where he anchored the evening news for five years.
Management says that Bounds didn't have a future with the station, so he moved to KSLA in Shreveport, where he anchored the weeknights evening news.
In March 1991, Bounds was hired to do the morning/noon newscasts for KING 5 in Seattle.
On December 14, 1994, Bounds was promoted from the morning/noon newscasts to the weeknights evening news, a role he has held since then.[4]
In April 2016, Bounds took a voluntary retirement offer, along with long-time co-anchor Jean Enersen, former chief meteorologist Jeff Renner, and reporter Linda Byron.[5]
