Dita Pepe

Dita Pepe (born 5 September 1973 in Ostrava) is a Czech photographer known for her self-portrait staged photography. She takes photos of herself as part of other men's, women's and families' lives. Majority of her photographs were taken in the Czech Republic, but also in Italy, Germany and South Africa. She is also a lecturer at the Institute of Creative Photography.

Biography

She graduated in Creative Photography from the Silesian University in Opava in 2003. Her final university thesis was called "Photography as a form of therapy".

She published photographic and literary documentary books “Slečny” (Misses) and “Měj ráda sama sebe” (Love Yourself) and the two have been working on their project “Intimita” (Intimacy).[1] For her book Autoportréty (Self-portraits) she won the Personality of Czech Photography 2012 award.

She lives with her husband and two daughters in the Beskydy Mountains.
