Dmitry A. Korobkov - founder and Chairman of the Board of ADV, one of the major communications groups in Russia and the CIS. Entrepreneur, business angel and Mad Tech investor.[1]

Education

In 1995, Dmitry graduated from the Faculty of International Economic Relations at MGIMO.[2]

After graduating from MGIMO, Dmitry completed several executive MBA programs at INSEAD, LBS and University of California, Berkeley. He holds degrees in marketing, economics and history. He also speaks fluent English, German and French.[3][4]

Professional Experience / Business Activities

1995 – Creative agency Adventa established. Affiliation agreement signed with the international network Lintas (currently Mullen Lowe Worldwide). Effect Media Company founded, which is a part of Initiative Media Worldwide.[5]

1998 – Acquisition of equity stake in TMA agency, affiliation agreement signed with Draft Worldwide.

2000 – Acquisition of equity stake in PRP Group, affiliation agreement signed with Weber Shandwick.

2000 – ADV established. ADV agencies opened in Ukraine, Kazakhstan and Belarus.

2001 – Affiliation agreement signed with McCann Erickson Worldgroup, Universal McCann, Momentum in Russia and the CIS.

2003 – MPG (subsequently Havas Media) agencies, affiliated with Havas Group, opened in Russia and the CIS.

2004 – Opening of agencies Impacto, АМК Znamenka, Comunica Golin Harris, MRM.

2005 – ADV agencies opened in Azerbaijan and Uzbekistan.

2008 – Opening of Arena Magic Box agency (Havas) on the basis of network media agency Arena and independent full-service agency Magic Box.[6]

2009 – Agreement on strategic partnership with Havas international group. Havas Worldwide Moscow agency opened in Russia.

2010 – Opening of Advance Digital agency (renamed Advance Mediabrands in 2012). Established RMG (Regional Media Group) agency – a network of regional representatives in federal districts with headquarters in Moscow.

2012 – Opening of Havas Digital and Havas Sports & Entertainment agencies in Russia. The research-oriented company IRG became part of ADV.

2012 - Opening of the full-service creative communications agency Draft FCB ADV. The agency is part of FCB international group.

2012 – Partnership agreement signed with Social Craft SMM agency.

2013 – As part of a global restructuring of the Havas Media Group brands (MPG, Arena Magic Box, Havas Sports and Entertainment and Havas Digital), MPG Russia media agency was renamed Havas Media Russia in March 2013.

2014 – Partnership agreement signed with Maxima agency. Within the scope of their partnership, Maxima and Havas Media Russia formed an alliance that aims to establish mutually beneficial cooperation by combining expertise, enriching media tools and increasing procurement efficiency.[7]

2015 – Interpublic Group (IPG) purchased the controlling interest in Russian divisions of international creative agencies McCann (McCann Moscow), MullenLowe (LOWE Adventa) and FCB (DraftFCB ADV) from ADV, IPG’s long-time partner in Russia.[8]

2016 – ADV boosted its stake in Maxima to 51%.[9]

2002 – Present – Member of General Council at the Russian nationwide public organization Delovaya Rossiya.[10][11][12]

2003 – Initiator and President of the Union of Social Advertisement Experts.[13]

2006 – Member of the Mercury Club under the Russian Chamber of Commerce and Industry.

2006 – Chairman of the Commission for Advertisement and Marketing at ICC Russia, Russian National Committee of the Russian Chamber of Commerce and Industry.

2006 – Vice President at the Russian Association of Communications Agencies (AKAR), Chairman of the Commission for Professional Training.

2006 – Member of the Expert Council at the Committee for Economic Policy and Entrepreneurship of the State Duma of the Russian Federation.

2007 – Initiator of ADV – Chair of Marketing Communications established at MGIMO University under the Russian Foreign Ministry; currently Head of the Department and Member of the Board of Guardians at MGIMO.

2007 – Founder of Dmitry Korobkov Charity Fund.

2008 – Member of Presidium at the General Council of the Russian nationwide public organization Delovaya Rossiya.

Honors and Awards

2000 – Winner of Media Manager National Award (for implementing a new model of communications business).[10][11]

2002 – Nominee for Global Leader for Tomorrow Award of the World Economic Forum (WEF) in Davos.

2004 – Commendation of the Russian President for successful work with youth segment of presidential candidate Vladimir Putin’s electoral campaign.

2007 – Winner of project Professional Team of the Country Award in the Industry and Services nomination category.

2009 – Title of Academician of the Russian Advertisement Academy.

2013 – project “Healing Together” by Dmitry Korobkov Charity Fund and Dmitry Korobkov personally named winners of IN VITA VERITAS Award in nomination “Best Academic and Research Project in the Field of Oncology”.[14]
