Domi Trastoy Diaz (Sant Julia de Loria, Andorra, born January 25, 1981)[1] is an Andorran mountaineer who already completed five out of the seven highest summits of each continent. On 22 May 2013 he completed the ascent of the Everest summit, the highest summit in Nepal and in the world.

Life and career

Domènec (Domi) was born in Sant Julià de Lòria on 26 January 1981. Domi's mountaineering hobby began when he was 29 years old progressively and he climbed the Mont Blanc (4,810  m). The next year, in January 2010, he climbed successfully the Aconcagua (6,962 m), in April he climbed the Elbrus (5,642 m) and in July, he climbed the Cervino (4,478 m). In February 2011, Domi travelled to Africa and reached the summit of the mount Toubkal (4,167 m), the highest summit of North Africa. The same year, he traveled to Kathmandu, participating in an expedition to reach the summit of the Everest from the north face.[2] A snow storm stopped him at 8,000 m. In January 2012 he climbed the Kilimanjaro (5,891 m), in May he climbed Denali (6,194 m)[3] and climbed again the Mont Blanc by the 4,000s route.

In 2013, Domi organised an expedition thanks to Crèdit Andorrà partnership,[4] Naturlandia,[5] Andorra Telecom[6] and Hotel Os de Civis[7] to try to reach again the Everest summit from the southeast face.[8][9]
