Siyaram Gangwar

Siyaram Gangwar was a former Member of Legislative Assembly from Kaimganj. He was also a renowned revolutionary freedom fighter having an active role in various operations against British Government in 1930s and 1940s. He was elected as member of legislative assemblyof Uttar Pradesh in 1951, 1962 and 1969. Dr. Siyaram Gangwar also served as Deputy Minister of Finance in the cabinet of Kamalapati Tripathi during 21-05-1971 tO 12-06-1973.

Freedom Struggle

Siyaram Gangwar Ji was a renowned freedom fighter of Panchala region. Local British administration had declared an award of Rs.500 for capturing him dead or alive. He spent his 14 years between 1933 to 1947 in hide-out. During this period, he served people of Gola and Meerut while treating them with the Homeopathic and Ayurvedik medicines.

Political career

After independence Siyaram Gangwar Ji actively contributed towards the development of Kaimganj Region. He was the only politician to represent Kaimganj assembly seat for three times in 1951, 1962 and 1969. Dr. Siyaram Gangwar also served as Deputy Minister of Finance in the cabinet of Kamalapati Tripathi from May 21, 1971 until June 12, 1973.

He also contested the Lok Sabha Election in 1980 and managed to get 20.89% votes while contesting as candidate of Congress(I).
