Attempted Closure
On June 14, 2016, parents and students of Oxford stood outside school doors protesting the recommendations by a volunteer council to close the school.[2] Complaints against closing the school mainly revolved around nearby French immersion students wanting to attend the school's French immersion program. Many parents were surprised by the recommendation by the council, and some students were sad that they would not be able to complete their education at the school.
