Edward Hearn (born 8 June 1979) is an English boxing promoter, in his position as Group Managing Director of Matchroom Sport, and is also a director of the Professional Darts Corporation.[1]
Boxing Promoter
Matchroom Sport was founded by his father, Barry Hearn. As Group Managing Director, Eddie Hearn focuses on fulfilling the company's exclusive televised boxing deal until 2021 with Sky Sports, to broadcast up to 20 live shows a year.[2] Eddie Hearn promotes Matchroom Sports world boxing champions, including Lee Selby, Kell Brook, Tony Bellew, Anthony Crolla, Jamie McDonnell, Scott Quigg, James DeGale, Luis Ortiz and Anthony Joshua. The company also has world title challengers and number one contenders such as Callum Smith, and promotes young prospects including Luke Campbell and Khalid Yafai and Isaac Chamberlain.
Rivalries
Since the introduction of Eddie Hearn as Matchroom Sport boxing promoter there has been rivalry shown from other promoters notably Frank Warren. Warren was quoted saying 'I'm not worried about Eddie'.[3]
