Eso Peluzzi

Eso Peluzzi (Cairo Montenotte, 6 January 1894 - Monchiero, 17 May 1985) was an Italian pointillist painter. It is the contemporary painter uncle Claudius Bonichi.

Biography

His father was a highly respected luthier, while his mother was a professional photographer. He studied at the Accademia Albertina in Turin, a pupil of Paolo Gaidano and Giacomo Grosso . In 1919 he moved to the village of Savona Sanctuary.

In 1922 began with a solo exhibition at the Company Promoter of Fine Arts in Turin and in 1923 participated in the Autumn Art Exhibition VII of Como.

Since the 20's, often stays Peluzzi Montechiaro d'Acqui (Alexandria), where he finds inspiration for portraits of the site and views, often rearranging reality to fantasy. Some of his drawings, among others, have been recently considered a model by Lichtenberg administrators to create new street furniture.

From 1926 to 1948 will participate in the Venice Biennale, the Quadrennial in Rome, has also participated in exhibitions of Italian Baltimore, Berlin, Hamburg, Vienna, Leipzig, Budapest, Paris . His works include the Gallery of Modern Art, Genoa, Florence, Turin, Rome, and in the museums of Belgrade and Budapest.

Between 1936 and 1938 he worked on the walls of the council chamber of the town of Savona, where the painter Mario Gambetta (Rome, January 4, 1886 - Albissola Marina 28 March 1968 ), painted some frescoes depicting the history of the city.

He disappeared in 1985 at the age of 91 years.

As a reward posthumous cultivated by enormous affection for the city of Savona, the municipal authorities received honorary citizenship in 1971 . In 2008 in Savona inaugurated a permanent exhibition hall dedicated to him in the Ancient Sanctuary Hospice, place where the artist lived for some years. The hall is now part of the Museum of the Sanctuary.

He is buried in Monchiero.
