Ethan Philan Randall (born June 13, 1978), known by his stage name Ethan Embry, is an American film and television actor.[1] He is best known for his role as Russell "Rusty" Griswold in Vegas Vacation, and most recently as Declan Giggs on the Showtime television series Brotherhood.[1]

Early life

Embry was born in Huntington Beach, California, the son of Karen, a screenwriter/talent manager, and H. Charles Randall, a dental technician. He has an elder brother, Aaron, a music producer and musician, and a younger sister, Kessia, a photographer.[2]

Career

Embry started acting at the age of 12. He starred in several film roles, including That Thing You Do!, National Lampoon's Vegas Vacation (1997), Empire Records (1995),[3] and the teen comedy Can't Hardly Wait (1998).[4] He had a major role in Showtime's Brotherhood, which premiered in 2006. The show was critically acclaimed and ran for three seasons.[1]

In 2013 Embry had a recurring role as Greg Mandell on Once Upon a Time.[5] In 2015 Embry had a guest role as Carter on The Walking Dead.[6]

Personal life

Embry married actress Amelinda Smith on November 14, 1998. They had one child together. They divorced in 2002.[7]

Embry married actress Sunny Mabrey on July 17, 2005.[8] In 2012, Mabrey filed for divorce, citing irreconcilable differences.[9] In 2013 Embry and Mabrey started dating again. On February 15, 2015 it was announced that the couple are engaged.[10]

In November 2006, Embry and Mabrey were robbed at gunpoint in their driveway.[11] In 2008, Embry settled a lawsuit with model Angelina Roudeza who had sued him after being thrown from his motorcycle in 2005.[12]
