Eutatus is an extinct genus of large insectivorous armadillo of the family Dasypodidae. It was endemic to South America during the middle to Late Pleistocene, living from 1.2 Ma-11,000 years ago and existing for approximately 1.19 million years.[1]
Taxonomy
Eutatus was named by Gervais (1867). Its type is Eutatus seguini. It was assigned to Dasypodidae by Carroll (1988).[2]
Fossil distribution
The fossil remains are confined to Argentina.
