Ezema Nru is one of the four smaller Nigerian sub communities that make up a larger community known as Nigerian Nru Nsukka.
It shares common boundaries with three other sub communities of Nru Nsukka: Edem Nru, Umuoyo Nru and Iheagu, Nigeria. It also shares a border with Eha Alumona.
Organizations
The most vibrant bodies and groups in Ezema are the Ezema Youths Association (incorporated in the year 2016), and the Ezema Development Union. The two groups are under the control of the Ezema Council of Elders, and the elders require the groups to consult them in any decision-making.
Villages
The community of Ezema being an Igboland and dominated by the Igbo speaking populace of Nigeria is made up of ten villages in Nru Nsukka,Enugu state. These villages are Amagu, Amugoro, Amamkpume, Uwelu, Amankwo, Umumkporogidi, Amorah, Amaezedim, Umuokwo, and Umuario. Each village has its own village head, known as Onyishi. Ezema has ten Onyishi. The title 'Onyishi' is normally attached to the names of the most eldest man or woman in a village. This title is also used as a family name (surname) by the family members of the Onyishi for example, Chief Samuel Maduka Onyishi.
The oldest village in Ezema is Amagu village. The village acts as the main gathering point for all meetings involving the entire Onyishi from Ezema or the entire Ezema community.
Ezema is believed to be one of the most peaceful communities in Nru Nsukka.
Geography
The notable high hills called Ugwu Ezema are located in this sub community. Some of the notable figures in Ezema include Onyishi Jerome Ozioko, Hon Celestine Ogbu, Admin Mercy Onah, TC Ozioko, Samuel Onyishi, and Sir Fidelis Onah.
Business and Occupation
Otobogidi is a known business area in Ezema, and also serves as the most centralized point for the Ezemanians. Otobogidi serves as mini-market to the Ezema community too.
Ezema is mostly dominated by artisans. It can be seen in various areas in Amorah Village such as blacksmithing which has the skills maintained for centuries in Ezema. Being one of the areas inside Nsukka town makes most of its occupants run daily businesses in the Nsukka Central market known as Ogige main market.
Religion
The two major types of religious practices in Ezema are Christianity and the Igbo religion.

The minors who practice Odinani pays homage to one of the well known deity Idenyi nkwo. Idenyi nkwo is a well known deity (referred to as Alusi in Nsukka). The chief priest of this deity is known as Attamah (meaning chief priest) from Ezema and lives in Ezema too.
