Ezra Benjamin Edelman (born August 6, 1974) is a documentary producer and director.

Early life and education

He is the son of children's rights activist Marian Wright Edelman and Georgetown University law professor Peter B. Edelman. He has two brothers, Joshua, an educational administrator, and Jonah, co-founder and CEO of Stand for Children. Edelman graduated from Sidwell Friends School in Washington D.C. during July 1992,[1] before going on to acquire his baccalaureate from Yale University.[2]

Directing and producing

He is best known as the director of the three HBO Sports documentaries Magic & Bird: A Courtship of Rivals,[3][4][5] The Curious Case of Curt Flood (2011)[3] and the Emmy Award-winning Brooklyn Dodgers: Ghosts of Flatbush.[4][2][6] He did a special on the former Big East Conference called Requiem for the Big East.[7] Edelman also produced and directed the 2016 documentary film O.J.: Made in America for ESPN's 30 for 30.[3][4][8][9][10][5][2]

Personal life

Edelman lives in Brooklyn, New York.
