Faraar (English - Absconding, Escape) is a Punjabi film starring Gippy Grewal and Kainaat Arora in lead roles.[1] Gippy Grewal played a double role character in the movie. Movie was released on 28 August 2015.[2]

Faraar collected overall 1.07 crore (US$160,000) from 84 screens at the overseas box office in the first weekend making it third highest opening of 2015 after Sardaar Ji and Angrej.[3] Faraar in its second week grossed a total of 1.94 crore (US$290,000) in the international markets in 10 days.[4]

Critical response

Faraar garnered rave reviews from the critics of Punjabi cinema. ABP Sanjha gave very good review to the movie.[5] One of the leading website says, "Faraar is a revenge saga, which has the power to sweep you off your feet from the word 'go'. It has a gripping story ....and a knockout performance by Gippy Grewal."[6] Jasmine Singh of The Tribune gave 4 stars out of 5 and termed movie as good to watch.[7]
