Farzan Athari (فرزان اطهری , born June 26, 1984) is an International Model, Actor, Artist and TV host from Sweden with Persian background.

In just a few short years, Farzan Athari has gone from notoriety from his hometown in Stockholm to global recognition. He is internationally known for his modeling.

Farzan Athari has worked in the Fashion & Entertainment industry for over 10 years in over 20 different countries with over 100 different brands. He was also the first international model to sign a modeling contract in his home country.

He starred in Haifa Wehbe music video - Ezzay Ansak.[1] Her album ranked #1 on iTunes Worldwide albums chart, being the first Lebanese artist to hold this position on the chart.[2] The music video has currently over 12 million views.

He also acted in 2 cinema movies in his home country, 40 Years Old (2010) with the multi-award-winning actress Leila Hatami from the Oscar-winning movie "A Separation" and he also acted in "The Day goes and The Night comes" (Shabane Rooz) (2011) with Mahnaz Afshar.

In May 2013 he got caught in Dubai, UAE with 21 gram of cocaine outside his home in the Burj Khalifa tower. He was sentenced to life in prison for possession of drugs with intent to selling - which under UAE law amounts to 25 years but the sentence was later reduced to 10 years after he set up a petition online [3] which has attracted more than 65,000 signatures to promote his plight. He insists he was entrapped and was coerced into signing a confession and statements in Arabic, a language which he can’t read or understand.[4] He later went on to record a song from jail called "Save My Life"[5] asking the ruler Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum for a pardon. The tribute song succeeded and touched His Highness Sheikh Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum and he ordered a special pardon for Farzan Athari only.[6]
