Fr. McGivney was established in 2012 after more than 6 years of planning. The school is located at its new facilities in Glen Carbon, Illinois. ^[1] The school had 19 students in its initial class and 32 more in its second class in 2013.^[2]^[3]

The high school is named for American Catholic priest Michael J. McGivney.
