There are two routes to becoming a fellow:

  1. Doctors can be proposed by an existing FRCP who completes a proposal form on the doctor’s behalf[1]
  2. Doctors who have held Membership of the Royal College of Physicians (MCRP) for 4 years or more are automatically entered into the fellowship election[1]

Fellows are entitled to use the designatory letters FRCP after their name,[1] see Category:Fellows of the Royal College of Physicians for examples.
