Foxy Production

Foxy Production is a New York art gallery founded by Michael Gillespe and John Thomson.[1][2]

Foxy Production, established in 2003, is located in Chinatown, New York City. Windowed on three sides and housed within a landmark Victorian building, the gallery space is designed by London architects Matheson Whiteley. Foxy Production inaugurated its gallery program in January 2003 after a series of intermittent projects between 2001–2.[3] The gallery opened in Brooklyn and then moved to Manhattan in September 2003. In January 2006 it opened a new ground floor space in west Chelsea.[4] before moving to Chinatown. Gallery artists include Hany Armanious,[5] Michael Bell-Smith,[6] Sascha Braunig,[7] Olga Chernysheva,[8] Petra Cortright,[9] Sara Cwynar,[10] the Estate of Deborah Turbeville,[11] Simone Gilges,[12] Gabriel Hartley,[13] Violet Hopkins,[14] Stephen Lichty,[15] Ester Partegàs,[16] Sterling Ruby,[17] Travess Smalley,[18] and Michael Wang.[19]

Besides its core program, the gallery has presented a number of notable curated exhibitions, including Minty (2012) by Ebony L. Haynes;[20] Highways Connect and Divide (2011);[21] The Phantasm (2011) by Rob McKenzie;[22] Cloud (2011) by Gabriel Hartley;[23] Abstract Abstract (2009);[24] Networked Nature (2007) by Marisa Olson for Rhizome, an affiliate of the New Museum of Contemporary Art;[25] Autonomy (2005) by Sterling Ruby;[26] the Dare performance series (2005) by Lauren Cornell;[27] and The Infinite Fill Show (2004) by Jamie and Cory Arcangel.[28]
