Frýdlant nad Ostravicí is a Municipality with Extended Competence and a Municipality with Commissioned Local Authority in the Czech Republic. It is named after its administrative seat, the town of Frýdlant nad Ostravicí.
In past the area belonged to a larger administrative unit, the Frýdek-Místek District. Since those times the settlements of the current Municipality with Extended Competence have been organized in an informal "Micro-Region" (Czech: Mikroregion Frýdlantsko-Beskydy).
