FuGENE

FuGENE® is the name given to a series of non-liposomal transfection reagents produced by Fugent LLC[1] of Wisconsin, USA, and marketed globally by Promega. They are used to facilitate the insertion of RNA or plasmid DNA into cultured cells.

Currently marketed are FuGENE® 6 which has been used for many years in cell biology research, appearing in over 10,000 publications, and FuGENE® HD which is intended for hard-to-transfect cell lines.[2] FuGENE® HD is utilized in a broad range of research and pharmaceutical areas from stem cell therapy[3] to lentiviral production[4] as well as CRISPR.[5]
