The Art Academy is housed in the Brandts Complex

Funen Art Academy (Danish: Det Fynske Kunstakademi) is an independent, nationally recognized educational institution located in the Brandts complex in central Odense, Denmark. The academy is funded jointly by the Danish Ministry of Cultural Affairs, the municipality of Odense, and private foundations and sponsors. [1]

The primary objective of the Academy is to provide workshop-based teaching with collaboration between students and teachers across different artistic media and study years. To achieve an international focus the tuition is carried out in English, in a large part by foreign artists, and concentrates on conceptual artistic practices which deal with current political and social issues.

The academy offers a state-recognised five year course in the contemporary visual arts.
