Galia Lahav is the eponymous fashion house of designer Galia Lahav, based in Tel Aviv.

Since late November 2016 Galia Lahav's Fashion House was recognized by Chambre Syndicale de la Haute Couture (the regulating commission that determines which fashion houses are eligible to be true haute couture houses), as an official Couturier, and the company is now preparing for Paris' Couture fashion week in late January, 2017, to present and launch her haute couture collection.

A Brief History of the brand

Fashion by Galia Lahav (2015)

The fashion house was founded in 1988 by Galia Lahav, a Russian decent artist living in Tel Aviv, Israel.

Initially, Lahav operated a knitted appliqué and embroidery shop, before transitioning to a evening and bridal wear atelier.[1]

Galia Lahav creates and design next to her home designer, for the past eight years, Sharon Sever.[2][3] Their "affair" had begun more than 35 years ago, as an art teacher and her pupil.

Today, the brand has retailers in the US, UK, Asia, Europe, North America, and Australia.[4][5] You can also find the gowns wore by individuals attending awards ceremonies, including Meghan Trainor for the 2015 Grammy Awards,[6] Actress Olivia Munn and American top-model Ashley Graham and, more.

Collections

Galia Lahav's collection has divided her labels to few; Couture bridal and evening, GALA made-to-measure bridal collection and made-to-order evening wear. In 2014, Galia Lahav introduced Moon Struck Evening collection, which concept's was revolving "the moon’s reflection amongst the stars”, using “layers of lace and silk, the translucent materials intended to emphasize the female figure”[7] and, the tales of the Jazz Age bridal collection, which based its style around a 1920's retrospective look focuses on the jazz culture of that era.[8] It has been described as “Galia's signature fitted, low-back gowns which were over-the-top, sexy and lavish”.[9] The brand has also produced the La Dolce Vita Bridal Collection the following year. In 2015, the Les Reves Bohemians bridal collection was released and was called a "daring and adventurous as the heroes of the tales". You'll find in this collection phenomenal corsetry, intricate lace details, and enchanted tulle skirts.

For Winter 2015 they released their Ivory Tower collection and their first GALA No. I collection.[7]

During April's 2016 Bridal Fashion Week in NYC, the house of fashion released their Le Secret Royal - Part I, couture bridal collection which is theme relies upon the mystery and romantic royalty strolls in it's secretive castles and gardens. The GALA No. II, made-to-measure premium line, was debuted as well, under the quote that "Natural is Beautiful". GALA No. II was the second collection of the successful bridal line.[10] In October 2016 the company has completed the Le Secret Royal collection with it's "Part II" debut in NYC bridal market, side to the GALA No. III collection. Both collections were highly reviewed in wedding magazines.

Nowadays the house of fashion is working on it's SS/17 couture collection to be launched in Paris' couture fashion week, in late January, as well on a GALA No.4 collection, that will be presented in NYC April's bridal market aside to the couture bridal pieces, and a few surprises as well.

A Revolution in Fashion

High-end celebrities and well known artists from the film, music and television industries, have chosen Galia Lahav’s sexy, daring, showstopper gowns for appearances, performances and photo shoots. Jennifer Lopez wore body-baring Galia Lahav gowns on the February 2016 cover and inside People en Espanol magazine to promote her Las Vegas residency.[11] Double nominee Meghan Trainor landed on best-dress lists when she wore a black lace Galia Lahav to the 2015 Grammy awards.[12] Orange is the New Black actress Kimiko Glenn wore a hand-embroidered Galia Lahav to accept the show’s Outstanding Performance for an Ensemble in a TV Comedy Series at the 2016 Screen Actors Guild Awards.[13] Actress-singer Jana Kramer chose Galia Lahav both for her red carpet look at the 2015 Country Music Association Awards[14] and her May 2015 wedding to football player Mike Caussin. Film and TV actress Angela Bassett of the successful TV series 'American Horror story' wore a bold fuchsia evening gown at the BAFTA's (British Academy Film & Television Awards) red carpet! And, on February 2016 the bachelorette Jade Roper from the 2nd season of ABC's The Bachelor, married Tanner Tolbert, whom you may recall as one of the contestants of The Bachelorette's 11th season, wore a GALA by Galia Lahav gown.

For the 2016 Oscars red carpet and Vanity Fair's party, they were proud to dress US's number one tennis player and the inspiring business woman Serena Williams, Actresses Michelle Rodriguez, Jane Wu and Maggie Grace.

Actress Olivia Munn wore a cocktail dress by Galia Lahav on the Red Carpet and On Stage while accepting an award (the "Jean Claude Gahd Dam") at Spike TV's 'Guys Choice 2016' Awards at Sony Pictures Studios on June 4, 2016 in Studio City, California. The Spike TV's 'Guys Choice 2016 Awards' was aired on June 9, 2016. Nicole Scherzinger, a well-known Galia fan chose one of the GALA gowns, on stage while performing during Andrea Bocelli's concert at the Hollywood Bowl on June 5, 2016 in Hollywood. American top-model and social media influencer, Ashley Graham, wore a custom made GALA by Galia Lahav sheer jumpsuit, for Glamour magazine WOTY (Woman of The Year) awards, where she was awarded for her social activities towards empowering women and young girls to love their bodies.
