Gemaco
Gemaco is a company that produces playing cards, table layouts and casino chips. The company is based in Blue Springs, Missouri. Since 2014, it has been a subsidiary of Gaming Partners International. The company is responsible for producing the tribal themed decks for Mohegan Sun. Face cards depict Native Americans as opposed to standard Jacks, Queens and Kings. Each suit represents one of the four seasons.[1]
In 2012, poker player Phil Ivey beat the Borgata for $9.6 million. Claiming manufacturing defects, The Borgata has filed a lawsuit against Gemaco to cover the losses.[2][3] Previously, Golden Nugget Atlantic City filed a lawsuit against Gemaco after a deck shipped unshuffled led to 14 players winning a combined total of $1.5 million in Mini-Baccarat at the casino.[1]
