George M. Tucker (September 5, 1929 – March 1, 2013) was an American football coach in the United States.[1]
Coaching career
Tucker was the head college football coach for the Elon Phoenix located in Elon, North Carolina. He held that position for 5 seasons, from 1960 until 1964.[2] His coaching record at Elon was 29 wins, 20 losses and 1 tie.As of the conclusion of the 2013 season, this ranks him #9 at Elon in total wins and #9 at the school in winning percentage (.590).[3][4]
Later working as a stock broker after his retirement from coaching, Tucker was a member of the Elon Sports Hall of Fame.[5]
