George Augustus Webb (6 March 1912[1][2] – 30 December 1998) was an English actor, best known for his role as "Daddy" in the sitcom Keeping Up Appearances.
The son of Henry Augustus Webb (1880 to 1926) and Gertrude (née Bolingbroke), he had two younger siblings, Denis Alfred Webb (1913 to 1918), who was killed by a military vehicle at age five, while picking flowers for his mother; and Joan Webb (1915 to 1989) who committed suicide after years of ill health.
From his father's earlier marriage, George Webb was the half brother of the actors Rita and Harry Webb.[2] On 30 December 1998, George Webb, aged 86, died of natural causes. He left a son, Michael Webb.[2]
