Gladys O'Connor (November 28, 1903 – February 21, 2012) was a British-Canadian actress who acted professionally in movies and television series for more than 20 years.
Early life and career
Born in East London, United Kingdom, O'Connor and her family moved to Canada when she was 9. Before becoming an actress, she worked as a saleswoman, accountant and bookkeeper.[1]
O'Connor began acting in American television series and films in the middle of the 1980s. Her first appearance was in Police Academy 3: Back in Training in 1986. Some of her other credits include Stepping Out, Harriet the Spy, Billy Madison, as one of the 30 Helens in the "30 Helens Agree" recurring sketches on Kids in The Hall, Matrix (TV series), The Long Kiss Goodnight and Half Baked.[1] O'Connor played a cranky but kind farm woman in Fly Away Home (1996). Her last role came in 1998 when she played Mavis in the TV-movie The Garbage Picking Field Goal Kicking Philadelphia Phenomenon.[2] O'Connor died on February 21, 2012 at the age of 108.[3]
