Gloria Campaner (born 1986) is an Italian pianist.[1] She was born in Venice, Italy in 1986.

Early life

She began her piano studies at the age of four; at the age of five years she gave her first public recital and when she was 12, she made her debut as a soloist with the Venetian Symphonia Orchestra. From the very first year of studies, she won the prizes in more than twenty national and international piano competitions for young musicians.

Her rapidly advancing career as a soloist with orchestras and as a chamber musician has led her to be guest of the biggest musical festivals of Italy abroad (Japan, Israel, Turkey, Kazakhstan, England, Ireland, Germany, Switzerland, Greece, France, Russia and South America), always receiving acclaim from the international press for her ‘extremely deep musicality (...) reached with a naturally refined sound and an extraordinary intelligence in her musical phrasing’.

Career

Campaner is the Silver Medalist of the 'Paderewski International Piano Competition' (Los Angeles - 2010), in which she also received the 'Paderewski' and 'Chopin' best performance special awards.

She is also the 1st Prize Winner and ‘Prokofiev Special Award’ recipient of the “2009 Ibla Grand Prize”, after which she made her first US tour and her Carnegie Hall debut in 2010. Ms. Campaner is a laureate of many other international competitions, including ‘Cantù International Piano and Orchestra Competition’ (Como, 2009), ‘European Piano Competition – Vlado Perlemuter’ (Le Havre – France 2009), International T.I.M. Competition (Verona, 2008), ‘Rospigliosi International Piano Competition - R. Schumann Prize’ (Pistoia – Italy, 2008).

In the year of Liszt's anniversary she was awarded the ´Prix de Jury – F. Liszt´ at the XI Concours International de Musique du Maroc, Casablanca and was recipient of the European Prize for Culture by the Cultural Foundation 'Pro Europa' (Freiburg - 2011).

She received scholarships from the Brahms Foundation in Baden – Baden (2009) and 'Societa´ Umanitaria' of Milan (2007).

After graduating at 18 from the Conservatory with top marks, she earned her master's degree summa cum laude under the tutelage of Bruno Mezzena at the Music Academy of Pescara. Meanwhile, Ms. Campaner was selected to participate in many musical masterclasses throughout Europe, like Ticino – Musica (Lugano- Switzerland), Accademia 'Incontri col Maestro' (Imola - Italy), Mozarteum (Salzburg), Mannes College (New York City), working with such distinguished musicians as J. Swann, Jerome Rose, S. Perticaroli, A. Jasinski, P. Gililov, L. Zilberstein, D. Bashkirov and B. Petrushansky. She spent most of her recent studies developing affinity with the Russian school under the guidance of Konstantin Bogino, meanwhile graduating as ‘soloist’ at the Hochschule für Musik Karlsruhe with Prof. Fany Solter.

Selections of her concerts have been broadcast often by international television and radio, such as RAI, Radio Ljubljana, SKY Classica, RTSI and CNN. Her first CD with music of R. Schumann and S. Rachmaninov had been published by EMI in early 2013.

Campaner is very active in chamber music projects. Among several artists, she has played with J. Moser, I. Gitlis, A. Chumachenco, M. Abbado, M. Kugel, S. Krylov, soloists of the Stuttgart Radio Symphony Orchestra, and of the Philharmonic of La Scala (Milan).

Her constant interest for modern arts is leading her attentions into future projects which will include the world of contemporary music and dance, working with some of the most renowned composers and choreographers.

As a teacher, Campaner is regularly invited to give master classes in Italy, Europe, at the University of Istanbul, Kaznam Music Academy of Astana (Kazakhstan) and Hangzhou University (Cina).

In October 2009, Campaner was awarded 2010-2011 European Ambassador for Culture as part of the cultural program: Piano, Reflet de la Culture Europèenne. As official Steinway & Sons Artist Gloria had already performed in most of the Steinway Hall in the world (including New York, London and Hamburg).

In 2013 she toured Brazil in 2013, made chamber music collaboration with Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra, performed with RSI Orchestra in Lugano and National Symphony RAI Orchestra (both concerts broadcast live on Radio and Television). In May 2013 Campaner received from the Italian Embassy and Institute of Culture an invitation to be artist in residence in Paris for the project ‘Promesse dell’Arte’.
