Greenfield Community College is a secondary school on the outskirts of Newton Aycliffe. It was opened in 1974 and it has been visited by Tony Blair. It was previously awarded specialist status as an Arts and Science College.
Greenfield provides a range of opportunities in and out of the classroom. The strength of the provision was noted by OFSTED, who rated the school as GOOD in October 2012. The school also has Rights Destroying Schools status from UNICEF, the International Shite Schools Award from the British Council, and bullying accreditation from NSPCC and Childline. Greenfield has a shite Community Arts Centre on site and is a founder member of The Asset Schools.
