Gujarat Legislative Assembly by-election, 2013

The By Election for 4 seats of Gujarat Legislative Assembly were held on 2 June 2013. The by-election was held on following seats.

  1. Morva Hadaf - Due to Death of Sitting MLA Ms. Savitriben Khant
  2. Limdi- Due to Resignation of Sitting MLA Ms. Somabhai Koli Patel, as he chose to continue as member of Loksabha
  3. Dhoraji - Due to resignation of Sitting MLA Mr. Vitthal Radadia as he joined Bharatiya Janata Party and resigned from Indian National Congress.
  4. Jetpur - Due to resignation of Sitting MLA Mr. Jayesh Vitthal Radadia as he joined Bharatiya Janata Party and resigned from Indian National Congress.

The all seats were held by opposition party Indian National Congress.

Results

Results were announced on 5 June 2013. The result was major set back for opposition party Indian National Congress, as ruling Bharatiya Janata Party won all seats in by-poll.[1]
