Hôtel Raphael
Hôtel Raphael is a luxury hotel situated on Avenue Kléber in the 16th arrondissement in Paris very close by to the Champs-Élysées, the Eiffel Tower and Arc de Triomphe. The five star luxury hotel is a family independently-run hotel.
It was constructed in 1925 through the initiative of Léonard Tauber and Constant Baverez, co-founders of other important Hôtel Régina (1900) and Hôtel Majestic (1908) now known as The Peninsula Paris. The hotel constructed in the Golden Twenties era was designed by architect André Rousselot. Decorated as Art Deco, it was named as a tribute to the painter Raphael and the fine arts.
The hotel was popular venue for well-known French and international artists, politicians and famous personalities. A number of films have been shot on its venues including Love in Paris (1996), Place Vendôme (1998) and the short Hotel Chevalier in 2007. Scenes from the hotel have been also used in Le Magnifique (1973), Gramps Is in the Resistance (Papy fait de la résistance, 1983), Mr. and Mrs. Bridge (1990).
