HR 515 is an A-type variable star of δ Scuti type.[3] Despite its Flamsteed designation of 3 Arietis (3 Ari), the star is actually located in the constellation Pisces[2] near the border of Aries. Its apparent magnitude is 6.54–6.59.[3] The star has the variable star designation VY Piscium (VY Psc).[4]
