Haifa District (Hebrew: מחוז חיפה, Mehoz Ḥeifa; Arabic: منطقة حيفا) is an administrative district surrounding the city of Haifa, Israel. The district is one of seven administrative districts of Israel, and its capital is Haifa. The district land area is 864 km2 (299.3 mi2).[1]
According to the Israeli Central Bureau of Statistics data for 2011: [1] Total population: 926,700 (2011) Ethnic : Arabs: 233,000 (25.1%) Jews: 642,700 (69.4%) Others: 51,000 (5.5%) Religious : Jews: 642,700 (69.4%) Muslims: 192,300 (20.8%) Druze: 24,300 (2.6%) Christians: 22,900 (2.5%) Not classified: 44,400 (4.8%)[2]
