Hank Bull (born 1949) is a Canadian multidisciplinary contemporary artist,[1] curator, organizer and arts administrator.[2]
Life
Prior to her death in 2002, Bull was married to, and was frequent collaborator with, Canadian video artist Kate Craig.[3]
Career
Bull was an early member of Vancouver's Western Front Society.[4] Bull's work has been included numerous exhibitions, including the Venice Biennale (1986), Dokumenta (1987) and Ars Electronica (1989).[2][5]
in 1999, with Zheng Shengtian and Stephanie Holmquist, Bull co-founded Centre A, a Vancouver public art gallery focussing on Asian and Asian-diasporic perspectives.[6]
Collections
Bull's work is included in the permanent collection of the National Gallery of Canada[7] and the Video Data Bank in Chicago.[8]
Awards
In 2014, Bull received an honorary doctorate from the Emily Carr University of Art and Design.[9]
