Awards Knight's Cross of the Iron Cross

Hans-Wilhelm Doering-Manteuffel (17 July 1898 – 21 January 1963) was a highly decorated Generalmajor in the Luftwaffe during World War II. He was also a recipient of the Knight's Cross of the Iron Cross. The Knight's Cross of the Iron Cross was awarded to recognise extreme battlefield bravery or successful military leadership. Hans-Wilhelm Doering-Manteuffel was captured by American troops in May 1945 and was released in September 1945.
