Harbeen Arora

Dr. Harbeen Arora is an entrepreneur, philanthropist, spiritualist and an author. She is the Founder & Global Chairperson of ALL Ladies League (ALL), an international women’s chamber.[1] She is also Chancellor of Rai University in Ahmedabad, Gujarat, India.[2]

Education

Arora was born in a Sikh family, completed her schooling in Delhi and completed her Bachelors from Delhi University. Afterwards, she went abroad to complete her Masters from King’s College, London University and the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art. Later she completed her PH.D. from Sorbonne Nouvelle, University of Paris III.

Career

Arora began her career as Co-founder & Chancellor of Rai University, Gujarat, India and implemented virtual education in the state via MOOCs.

She founded ALL in 2011. She also chairs the Women Economic Forum - an initiative of ALL Ladies League, which held its first annual meeting in May 2015 in Goa.

Awards and recognition

Arora received the National Award for Social Entrepreneurship and Education on 20 December 2015 at the Swayamsiddha Awards presented at the Vibrant Gujarat Business Women National Conclave hosted by Gujarat Chamber of Commerce and Industry (GCCI) Business Women's wing in partnership with Indian Merchant Chambers. The awards were given in the presence of Gujarat governor Om Prakash Kohli, who was the chief guest, and renowned Gujarati actress Sujata Mehta who was the guest of honor. The three-day Vibrant Gujarat Business Women National Conclave was formally inaugurated by Gujarat Chief minister Anandiben Patel and Indian film actor Kajol Devgan was the guest of honour.

Dr. Harbeen Arora Honoured by "Swayam Sidhdhi 2015-2016" award as an outstanding women entrepreneur in the "National Icon Category".

She was also invited by Ivy League Universities in US, including Yale, Harvard, Columbia, MIT and Princeton to talk about creative living and human values. Her social endeavour, Amaanat, aims to support weavers and artisans.
