Health Valley

The Health Valley is a name given to the bio-medical research centres, industry, start-up companies and services (including the university hospitals of Lausanne and Geneva) in the Lemanic Arc (in French-speaking Switzerland).[1][2]

The name of the Health Valley is inspired by the Silicon Valley. According to L'Hebdo, there are 750 biotech and medtech companies (20'000 employees) in the Lemanic region.[1]

According to Fathi Derder, Patrick Aebischer (president of the École polytechnique fédérale de Lausanne) actively promote the creation of a Health Valley in the Lemanic Arc.[3]
