Hemibagrus punctatus[3] (Nilgiri mystus) is a fish species first described by Jerdon in 1849. Hemibagrus punctatus is a member of the genus Hemibagrus and the family Bagridae.[4][5] IUCN categorizes the species as critically endangered.[1] No subspecies are listed in the Catalogue of Life.[4]
