History of the Kurds in Nashville, Tennessee

The city of Nashville, Tennessee includes a large Kurdish population. Nashville has been nicknamed "Little Kurdistan" due to its large number of Kurds.[1]

History

The first wave of Kurdish immigrants arrived as refugees during the 1970s.

Demographics

As of 2013 there were 11,000 Kurds in Nashville.[2] This is the largest population of Kurds in the United States. Most have roots in Iraq.[3]
