Homicron
Homicron is a French comic book character created by Lina Buffolente for French publisher Editions Lug in 1972.
Homicron is an alien from planet Alpha, whose inhabitants have the power to turn into energy beings to explore the cosmos. To save the American scape capsule Apollo XIX, Homicron becomes trapped on Earth. He merges with the body of astronaut Ted White, who otherwise would have died from a heart attack. Using an energy transformer designed by girlfriend physicist Rita Tower, Ted White turns into Homicron to fight the alien shape shifters Kyrosians who threatens Earth. He is assisted by Latino teenager Domingo Lopez.
Eight episodes of Homicron were originally published in the digest-sized magazine Futura Nos. 1-8 in 1972. The series was then discontinued.
The character returned in 2002 in Fantask No. 1-5, before migrating to Strangers No. 1, in a series of new adventures, written by Jean-Marc Lofficier and drawn by Jean-Jacques Dzialowski. There, the alien force that is Homicron migrated to the body of Rita Tower, before joining a team of super-heroes composed of other aliens residing on Earth. Homicron's last appearance was in Strangers No. 9 in 2003.
Homicron is now part of Hexagon Comics which has published a trade paperback collection of his adventures translated into English.
