Howard Gibson is an American serial entrepreneur in media, technology, and real estate. Howard attended the American Film Institute and UCLA.

Career

Currently, is the EVP of Brand Partnerships & Content Strategist for Cetera Technology, and sits on the board at IM Global and oversees Octane Inc. a genre based film financing and distribution sales company.

Howard first's entrepreneurial foray was Have A Blast! (2007) a technology company which developed a family entertainment oriented 3d/4d immersive gaming technology. The company later sold to a Undisclosed company for high 8 figures.

By 1999 Howard started his own production company Howard Gibson Productions with a primary focused on the straight to DVD films. There he wrote Time Warner Vicious Circle,[1] wrote and directed Lionsgate Home Entertainment,Guilty by Association, starring actor Morgan Freeman. Produced Sony Pictures Entertainment Choices II: The Setup starring Academy Award winners/Rap group Three Six Mafia.[2] and ghost wrote several more urban classic films (undisclosed) for Viacom, Lionsgate Home Entertainment & Universal Music Group . By 2006-2010 Mr. Gibson was a production executive and developed several hit reality shows for Discovery Network, and Bravo (U.S. TV network).

Howard's film career started in 1992 with walking onto the set of Eddie Murphy's Distinguished Gentleman, where he got his first job as a PA. By 1993 he won first prize at the Academy Nicholl Fellowships in Screenwriting. Later, Gibson expanded his craft with writing over 25 spec scripts. 20 of which optioned at various Hollywood studios but none actually produced. This propel Howard to push forward with further understanding of cinema. That's when Howard entered The American Film Institute and The Maine Media Workshops. There he trained as a cinematographer and became the first Black steadicam /owneroperator (1994) registered with Local 600. By 1995 Howard transitioned into the world of music videos and became a permanent fixture at the prolific production company Propaganda Films. At Propaganda, Howard shot music videos and with award winning directors David Fincher, Dominic Sena, Paul Boyd, Antoine Fugua, Spike Jonze, and Gore Verbinski and within 5 years time, Howard worked with countless musical icons such as Tupac, Ice T, MC Lyte, Easy E, The WuThang Clan, The Notorious B.I.G., Pharsyde, Travis Tritt, & Red Hot Chilli Pepper among others. In all, Howard has shot or produced over 100 music videos and more than 100 commercials for major brands.
