Hubballi-Dharwad BRTS is a proposed BRTS project being built to serve the twin cities of Hubballi and Dharwad, located in the North-Western part of Karnataka state in India. The construction is funded by the Government of Karnataka, while the operation and maintenance work will be done by Hubli-Dharwad Municipal Corporation (HDMC) in association with Karnataka State Road Transport Corporation (KSRTC).

BRT corridor

A 4-lane 'throughout' bus corridor of length 70 km is planned running in the middle of an 8-lane freeway which includes two lanes for mixed traffic in both the directions. The width of the corridor will vary from 44.0 meters to 24.5 meters. Four underpasses for regular traffic are planned at Unkal Lake, Unkal-Cross Road, Bairidevarakoppa, and Navanagar.

Bus stations

A total of 33 bus stations are planned, of which 24 stations (12 in each direction) with 2 bays will be located on 44.0 m wide express corridor which will start from Unkal lake, near Hubballi and end at JSS college, near Dharwad. 3 stations with 3 bays will be located between Hosur Cross and Unkal lake (4.0 km) in the city of Hubli, similarly 3 stations with 3 bays will be located between JSS college to Jubilee Circle (3.1 km) in the city of Dharwad.

Bus stations with two bays will be 3 meters wide, and will be located at the middle of the BRT corridor. The length of these stations will be enough to accommodate 1 Articulated bus or 2 regular dual axle buses.

Each station will act as reference point for GPS and will have LED Displays to display schedules of arrival / departure of buses.
