Hurvin Anderson
Hurvin Anderson (born 1965, in Birmingham) is a British painter.
Early life and education
Anderson was born in Birmingham in the UK to parents of Jamaican origin.[1] He was educated at Wimbledon College of Art, London and The Royal College of Art.
Career
Anderson has won awards and held residencies in Britain and the Caribbean. His work has been exhibited in group and solo exhibitions in the UK and the US, including at Tate Britain, London, Ikon Gallery, Birmingham, the Studio Museum, Harlem, New York and the Art Gallery of Ontario.[2][3] Colin Perry in Frieze Magazine described the artist's work as "a vision of an awkwardly accommodated immigrant culture". Anderson is represented by Thomas Dane in London and the Michael Werner Gallery in New York.
