Hyposmocoma hygroscopa is a species of moth of the Cosmopterigidae family. It is endemic to the Hawaiian island of Kauai. The type locality is Halemanu.
The larvae probably feed on lichens on Eucalyptus and Pandanus and probably other trees. The larva builds a case. Larvae have been found on bark and on a pandanus leaf.
